Colron Furniture Stripper
 

Colron Furniture Stripper has been especially formulated to strip back furniture to the bare wood. It will dissolve old paint, enamels, polyurethane varnishes, cellulose, plastic coatings and most other tough finishes without damaging and affecting the wood underneath.

How to dissolve old finishes?

You will need: Colron Furniture Stripper and Colron Coarse Steel Wood (00)

Directions:

1. Brush on the Colron Furniture Stripper and leave for 5 - 15 Minutes until it has penetrated the old surface.
2. Remove the finish with COlron Coarse Steel Wool (00), rubbing along the grain.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the old finish has been removed.
4. Clean The surface with white spirit and leave to dry before applying a finish.

FAQs. Can I varnish over Wax/Oil?

It is not advisable to varnish over either of these two finishes.

Colron Wax Remover
 

Colron Wax Remover removes old traditional natural finishes, without damaging the wood underneath. Ideal for wax and oil finishes.

Instructions for Stripping back to bare wood:

You will need: Colron Wax Remover and Colron Medium Steel Wood (000)

Directions:

1. Dip a piece of Colron Medium Steel Wool into Colron Wax remover and rub along the grain until the surface becomes sticky.
2. Keep applying until the surface has been removed, then rub down with a clean piece of Medium Steel Wool dipped in wax remover.
3. Leave to dry before rubbing down with dry steel wool.

Instructions for Stripping back to Original Finish:

You will need: Colron Wax Remover and Colron Fine Steel Wood (00000)

Directions:

1. Apply Colron Wax Remover using Colron Fine Steel Wood (00000) rubbing gently over surface until old finish has been dissolved.
2. Wipe off with a clean cloth leaving the surface finish intact.

Colron Wood Reviver
 

Colron Wood Reviver is ideal for feeding and nourishing the wood in your home after it has been stripped and cleaned of its finish. Essential oils which are necessary to prevent the wood from drying, warping and splitting need to be replaced.

Directions (for use on bare wood only):

1. Apply a thin coat of Colron Wood Reviver with a cloth, rubbing the liquid into the grain.
2. Use more liquid for older dryer wood.
3. Allow the wood 24 hours to dry before applying a finish.

Directions:

1. Shake well before applying a generous amount of Colron Liquid Scratch Cover using the brush in cap.
2. After 1 hour, scrape away excess using rigid straight sided implement.
3. Buff surface using a lint free cloth.

You will need: Colron Ring Remover and Colron Fine Steel Wool (00000)

Directions :

1. Shake can well before use.
2. Spray mousse onto ring and rub gently along the grain with a soft cloth. (Do not rub in a circular motion.).
3. Re-apply after 10 minutes for more ingrained rings using Fine Steel Wool.
4. Where there is excessive ring damage, may need to build up colour.

Instructions Creating a French polished effect.

You will need: Colron French Polish.

Directions :

1. Remove old finishes, or if applying over previously French Polished surfaces wipe down with white spirit.
2. Shake well before use.
3. Pour a little Colron French Polish onto pad and work onto surface of wood in a figure of eight.
4.Apply several coats, leaving 15 minutes between coats. Leave 24 hours to fully dry.

Colron Wax Stick

Instructions Repair imperfections and scratches in wooden furniture.

You will need: Colron Wax Stick.

Directions :

1. Shave of small pieces of wax with the spatula provided.
2. If matching to a specific colour, blend the shavings from any of the three sticks on a suitable non-porous surface.
3. Press the required amount of wax gently into the area needing repair.
4. Alternatively, apply a Colron Wax Repair Stick of the desired colour directly to the area.
5. Buff off any excess wax with a soft cloth to achieve a smooth finish.
